Dr. Julio Fernandez-Cestau completed his PhD (2011) in Chemistry at the Universidad de La Rioja (Spain). Then he worked as researcher at the same University for two years. In January 2014, he moved to the University of East Anglia (Norwich, UK) to take the position of Senior Post-Doc enrolled to the ERC Advanced Grant 338944-GOCAT. He joinded TUM campus Straubing in September 2020 to be the Subgroup leader Synthesis and Photoactive materials in the Chair of Biogenic Functional Materials (Prof. Dr. Rubén D. Costa). His research covers the use of organometallic complexes for catalysis, photonics and medical application, with special emphasis of the design of emissive complexes for lightning and new devices.
