We are very pleased to welcome our new team member Dr. Anna Zieleniewska
Dr. Zieleniewska is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow at our Chair. Her research focuses on the development of dual devices for light and temperature management.
C of cable…what’s behind the plugs?
Rubén participated in the children’s program Aprendamos juntos 2030. Electricity from renewable sources, the use of efficient energy, the ways of making light that exist in Nature and many other topics that you can discover in the following link. Enjoy!
BMBF highlights ARTIBLED efforts on supporting the EU Green Deal
Under the title „Germany supports the EU Green Deal – Industrial Key Technologies for the European Green Deal“, the NKS DIT and BMBF have highlighted 10 NMBP and FETOPEN projects funded under the Horizon 2020 Framework Program for Research and Innovation.
ARTIBLED was selected due to i) its strong commitment with the European Green Deal, ii) the significant added value for the lighting industry, and iii) the relevance to exemplify that cross-border cooperation pays off for every single participant.
Chemical Journeys 2022, Turin – Italy
On Thursday, 22nd of December, Sara and Luca participated to “Chemical Journeys 2022”, an event that takes place every year at the University of Turin, Italy. In this context, they presented their journey into science from the Bachelor to the ongoing PhD to an audience of under graduated students, discussing their research topics as well as their experience studying across several countries in Europe and being involved in European Research Projects.
Farewell our friend!
After many years together and many papers, projects, awards, movements, Köttermann, and tears… Julio got the prestigious group leader Ramon y Cajal Fellowship that will end up in tenure Associate Professor at the University of La Rioja.
This is the kick-off of a new school generation that will bring us joy with excellent science!
All the best for the next step, my friend!
Happy Holidays and all the Best for 2023!!
We all enjoyed the great atmosphere that this family has created over the last 2 years! 2022 was an excellent year with many students (internships, master, bachelors,…), new members, papers, projects, awards, many babies, laughs/tears, and a lot of new things that we have all learnt from each other.
2023 will be awesome!
Science under the Christmas tree in Bari, Italy!
Sara and Luca participated to a conference in Bari (Italy, 19th and 20th December 2022), where they presented their research at “Chemistry under the Tree 2022” with oral contributions. The focus of the event has been on the green transition towards a more sustainable future. Sara presented her research topic discussing about Deep-red Bio-Phosphors for Highly Performing Low-Energy Bio-Hybrid Light-Emitting Diodes, while Luca presented Biogenic electrolyte for highly performing and self-stable light-emitting electrochemical cells, highlighting the effort of the Chair of Biogenic Functional Materials towards the development of sustainable bio-derived materials for optoelectronics.
New paper in Advanced Optical Materials!
Thanks to a fruitful internal collaboration with Dr. Daniel Van Opdenbosch and Yvonne Gmach, our work was finally dropped in Advanced Optical Materials! We fabricated a new highly white emissive host-guest hybrid material, and consequently a new white hybrid LED, from the encapsulation of the red-emissive rhodamine B into a blue-emissive metal organic framework (MOF).
Congrats to Youssef, Luca, Julio, as well as people from the Chair of Biogenic Polymers!
Aalto University visited us in Straubing
Always nice to welcome guests at our Chair who share our scientific passion.
After we visited Aalto University in October, they came to visit us !
The two days were packed with interesting presentations and discussions about future papers on many interconnected topics (protein crystals, protein-hybrids, aggregation induced emission, etc.). The first one will come soon. Keep an eye on us!
The holy paper out!
Many of us (Yanyan, Olivia, Youssef, and Luca) involved in a great collaboration with the groups of Victor (IMDEA Energy) and Mousumi (U. Szeged) to discover how critical water adsorption is for the photo-brightening effect in quasi 2D perovskite films for lighting applications.
