On the race to WSS100 !!
We were recently honored by the Werner Siemens Foundation (WSS) „Project of the Century“ competition winning the first step WSS research prize of 1 million Swiss francs to prepare us for the competition of a research center for 100 millions action. It is a pleasure to participate in this consortium led by Prof. Asseng focused on agricultural research with the ambitious goal on “Revolution of Food Production” where our bio-hybrid lighting and photovoltaic systems will play a major role.
Research Overview – Dr. Mattia Nieddu
Dr. Mattia Nieddu present the findings of his Marie Curie-funded research on the new generation of FP silica-based Bio-HLED technology through an informative video.
New paper out on Advanced Science about stable Core-shell-structured Fluorescent Protein Nanoparticles for Lighting!
Read more about Mattia’s latest contribution ´´ Core-shell-structured Fluorescent Protein Nanoparticles: New Paradigm Towards Zero-thermal-quenching in High-power Bio-hybrid Light-emitting Diodes´´ on Advanced Science. Here, we describe how to stabilize green-emitting proteins (sfGFP) in a novel silica nanostructure towards long-living green-emitting Bio-HLEDs.
Catching attention!
The Central European Research Infrastructure Consortium (CERIC) has recently highlighted our work published in Angewandte Chemie together with the group of Prof. Bonifazi.
Many thanks for CERIC for this excellent highlight! We will keep producing excellent results!
Our top downloaded Adv. Funct. Mater. !
Our work on Recent Progress on Synthesis, Characterization, and Applications of Metal Halide Perovskites@Metal Oxide has been among our most downloaded papers published in Advanced Functional Materials in 2022 !! We are honored for this recognition!
Congrats to Mattia and Jesús for the Bioeconomy Innovation Award !!
Mattia and Jesús were recently awarded with the international Bioeconomy Innovation Award to explore new horizons in their research fields: hybrid silica-enzymes and smart microbicides. This is a great opportunity to foster their careers.
As they said: “If someone ever had told us that we would get the opportunity to develop a “saving the planet” project along with top researchers at TUM based on a brainstorm session, we would not have believed it. This Interdisciplinary PostDoc day Bioeconomy Innovation Award we celebrated at TUMCS is making it possible.”
New paper out on Advanced Functional Materials about stable mCherry-based biophosphors!
Read more about Sara´s latest contribution ´´Homopolymeric Protein Phosphors: Overpassing the Stability Frontier of Deep‐Red Bio‐Hybrid Light‐Emitting Diodes´´ on Advanced Funcitonal Materials, which is about the stabilization of the red-emitting protein mCherry in a novel polyvinyl alcohol matrix, towards long-living deep-red Bio-HLEDs.
Erster Interdisciplinary Postdoc Day am TUMCS voller Erfolg
Am 01. Dezember 2022 fand am TUMCS der 1. Interdisciplinary Postdoc Day mit Teilnehmern unterschiedlicher Fachdisziplinen statt. Ziel des als Workshop angelegten Postdoc Days war es, die Entwicklung von neuen, kreativen und interdisziplinären Projektkonzepten zu unterstützen.
