Jakub has a Bachelor´s degree in biology from the Universida Complutense de Madrid and a Master´s degree in Biotechnology from the Universidad Autónoma des Madrid. He is doing his PhD in Synthetic and Industrial Chemistry, Universidad del País Vasco in April 2025 with the title: “Development of sustainable Heterogeneous Biocatalysts for the redox valorization of HMF”.
Previously he worked as Research staff at Optimization for Enzymatic Biocatalysts and Bioprocesses group within the Instituto de Catálisis y Petroleoquímica (ICP-CSIC) 2018 - 2020. As PhD student for INTERfaces MSCA (2020): a project developed between CASCAT GmbH (Straubing – GERMANY) and the Heterogenous Biocatalysis group at the CIC biomaGUNE (Donostia – SPAIN) 2020 - 2023. Subsequently as Research staff at Cascat GmbH 2023 – 2024.
Now he has started as researcher for the project CERES at BFM on 1st of February.
