Congrats to Elisa for the new book chapter!!
Our new book chapter entitled “ Applying Ionic Transition Metal Complexes to Light-Emitting Electrochemical Cells” has been published in Springer Handbook of Inorganic Photochemistry. It has been a great pleasure to contribute to this great action!
ARTIBLED inspires new generations!!
We are very happy for the Award ON ZIENTZIA entitled „Argiztapen artifizial… naturala?“ of Alain Sorazu, Alfredo Rodríguez, Kimberlyn Fonseca Pérez and Morgane Goyens, students of the máster de ilustración científica at the UPV/EHU (Spain). This young group was inspired by our European Project ARTIBLED – https://bfm.cs.tum.de/research/artibled/?lang=en. The jury has highlighted „it is a magnificent work of animation that perfectly integrates different techniques and has been able to clearly communicate a current research using an attractive aesthetic, and successfully combining music and effects“. This is a great example of the relevance of ARTIBLED to set in the sustainable technological future that we are looking forward.
Check out the film of the RSC about the Horizon Prize on Protein-Lighting 2021!
We and all the collaborators/friends are very grateful for the Royal Society of Chemistry for this honor!
We keep working hard to meet the high expectations!
Cu-Lighting Team Win Royal Society of Chemistry’s Prestigious Horizon Prize
A team of scientists from across Europe have been named the winner of the Royal Society of Chemistry’s Dalton Division Horizon Prize, celebrating the most exciting chemical science taking place today. Among them is the the team of Prof. Rubén Costa, head of the Chair for Biogenic Funcitonal Materials at TUM Campus Straubing.
Successful Cooperation Initiative Application: Aalto Universty and Technical University of Munich
We are very grateful that our joint initiative has been approved for funding. This will help us to explore new concepts in bio-hybrid materials for energy in collaboration with our colleagues Prof. Mauri and Dr. Anaya.
Congratulations to Luca for winning the Young Researcher Award from Symposium D1, E-MRS Spring Meeting 2022!
On the 1st of June 2022, Luca presented our latest results at E-MRS Spring Meeting 2022 and contextually he has been awarded with the prestigious Young Researcher Award from European Materials Research Society.
Congratulations to Luca for his talk to e-MRS Spring Meeting 2022!
On the 1st of June 2022 (second anniversary of our Chair), Luca presented our latest results at E-MRS Spring Meeting 2022 with a focus on biogenic electrolytes for lighting. He presented promising results obtained with cellulose-based polyelectrolyte applied in light-emitting electrochemical cells.
Congratulations to Marco for his presitigious Master Thesis Award!!!
Marco won the ‘Wissenschaftspreis Straubing 2022’. This price is awarded to students and scientists working at the Competence Center for Renewable Resources and have drawn attention to themselves through special achievements and outstanding dissertation or master’s thesis. Marco was awarded for his master’s thesis focused on the implementation of new fluorescent proteins and biopolymers in hybrid LEDs under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Rubén D. Costa at the Chair of Biogenic Functional Materials (TUM Campus Straubing).
We are on the TV!!
Rubén had the opportunity to give a small insight into our research to a wide audience. He was featured in the show „alles wissen“ on hr-fernsehen.
Here you can find the link to view his part in the show:
We are on the news!!
It is a great honor that our recent publication in Adv. Mater. has been highlighted by several social media!
Below you can find a nice description on our recent on using multivarite analysis to design first class blue and white copper(I) complexes for ionic based thin film lighting devices.
Enjoy the read…more is coming soon.
