Dr. Alicia Asín obtained her B. Sc. in Chemistry in 2016 and her M. Sc. in Biochemistry and Biotechnology in 2017 at the University of La Rioja, Spain. During this time, she worked on the synthesis of fluorescent amino acids with potential biological applications. She performed her PhD in Chemistry at the same University under the supervision of Prof. Alberto Avenoza and Prof. Francisco Corzana, focusing on the synthesis of unnatural glycopeptides with application on cancer research, where she graduated in 2022. Currently, she holds a postdoctoral position at the Technical University of Munich, under the supervision of Prof. Rubén D. Costa. Her research focuses on the functionalization of proteins and polymers with organic molecules in order to fabricate devices for lighting applications.
