Vita

Dr. Nieddu holds a degree in inorganic chemistry from the University of Cagliari (Italy) and got his PhD in metallophilic interactions between the University of La Rioja (Spain) and the University of Cagliari (Italy) in 2019. He was a postdoc fellow in the University of Barcelona (Spain) from February 2019 to November 2019 and subsequently was awarded with the post-doc ADER Fellowship to work with Prof. Jesús Berenguer at the University of La Rioja, (Spain). His expertise spans from the design of luminescent organometallic complexes to the development of novel photoactive theranostic nanomaterials for biomedicine applications in bioimaging and phototherapy. Since September 2021, Dr. Nieddu is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow at the Technical University of Munich working at the chair of Biogenic Functional Materials with Prof. Rubén D. Costa. His research focuses on developing Bio-hybrid LEDs based on fluorescent protein-based nanomaterials. His scientific production includes 7 publications in peer-reviewed journals with >80 citations.
