Marta Patrian obtained her B.Sc. degree in Biotechnology (2019) at the Alma Mater University of Bologna (Italy) and her M.Sc. in Plant Biotechnology (2021) at the University of Wageningen (the Netherlands). During her M.Sc. she was working on i) the glyco-engineering of the plant Nicotiana benthamiana for the production of vaccines and ii) the establishment of a biosafety system based on a cross-feeding community of two bacterial species. Currently, she started her PhD at the Technical University Munich (Germany) in the chair of Biogenic Functional Materials under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Rubén D. Costa. Her research revolves around the characterization and engineering of extreme fluorescent proteins for application in hybrid solar cells and light-emitting diodes.
